Eagles work out UNC QB, Maryland LB

Here's the latest on which prospects the Eagles are taking a look at with the draft only a week away.

According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, the Eagles had a private workout for Maryland linebacker Adrian Moten yesterday.

Moten (6-2, 228) was a two-year starter, playing on the strong side for the Terps. He was second on the team in tackles as a junior and fourth as a senior.

Most draft projections have Moten being selected in the late rounds.

Meanwhile, the Birds also held a private workout with South Carolina running back Brian Maddox today, per Wilson

Maddox (5-10, 238) ran for 833 yards on 214 attempts with the Gamecocks. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry as a senior. Maddox's size suggests he could be an option at fullback, and projections suggest he may have to settle for becoming an undrafted free agent if he's not selected in the late rounds.

Staying on the offensive side of the ball, the Eagles are one of several teams that have held a private workout with North Carolina quarterback T.J. Yates, Wilson reports.

Yates (6-3, 219) completed 66.8 percent of his passes as a senior, throwing for 3,418 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Over on Eagletarian, NFL Network's Mike Mayock named Yates as his QB sleeper, saying he could evolve into a solid backup in the league.

And finally, an interesting piece from Mike Garafolo of NJ.com on draft prospect Chris Hogan. Hogan was an all-conference lacrosse player at Penn State who played football for Monmouth last season. He's impressed scouts during workouts and is now looking to earn a shot in the league as either a wide receiver or safety. Per Garafolo, Hogan is scheduled to work out for the Eagles on Monday.
