Buehrle hoped for a Vick injury

Not everyone is going to forgive Michael Vick.

I'm sure the Eagles' quarterback is well aware of that.

But he'd probably be surprised to hear what fellow professional athlete Mark Buehrle had to say about him during a recent interview.

Buehrle, a veteran pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, was interviewed by Scott Merkin of MLB.com, discussing he and his wife's love for dogs and their roles as animal-rights advocates.

In the original version of the story (per Yahoo Sports' David Brown), Buehrle offered this take on Vick.

"Even if you are not a dog lover, how can you sit there and make two dogs fight and one is going to die?" said Buehrle. "How could you do that if you are somewhat sane?

"[Vick] had a great year and a great comeback, but there were times where we watched the game and I know it's bad to say, but there were times where we hope he gets hurt. Everything you've done to these dogs, something bad needs to happen to these guys."

While those quotes no longer appear in the story, they are still available on Merkin's Twitter account.

Earlier Tuesday, I posted on the Eagles' spending and checked out some mock drafts.
