Bucs release Reggie Brown

Reggie Brown is looking for a team.

The ex-Eagles wide receiver was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today, according to reports. The Birds dealt Brown to Tampa in the offseason in exchange for a sixth-round pick in next year's draft.

The Bucs' leading returning receiver is Maurice Stovall, who had just 24 catches for 366 yards a year ago. Tampa kept six wide receivers on its roster.

Brown spent five seasons with the Eagles after they selected him in the second round of the 2005 draft. He appeared in 14 games with the Birds last season, starting two. Brown is 29 years old.

MCNABB 'READY TO GO'

Donovan McNabb will start Sunday night against the Cowboys, Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan told reporters on Monday.

McNabb had been bothered by an ankle injury and did not play in Washington's last two preseason games.

The Redskins open the season on national TV Sunday night.
