Shawn Andrews done with Twitter
After changing his Twitter tag over the weekend, Shawn Andrews announced Saturday that he will no longer be using the social networking tool.

It was fascinating to see Shawn Andrews interact with fans and critics just minutes after he was released by the Eagles last week.
He answered questions directly and addressed speculation about his past and future.
But it looks like that kind of back and forth won't continue for Andrews. After changing his Twitter tag from ShawnAndrews73 to MrRandom73, he announced yesterday in one final Tweet that he's done:
TWITTER ITS BEEN REAL GOOD TO MEET "CHALL".. HOPE EVERYONE SUCEEDS @ WHATEVER YALL SET FOR IN LIFE. MY LAST TWEET. SHAWN
That was Saturday afternoon at 1:31 p.m., and there's been nothing from Andrews since.
The use of Twitter by athletes presents an interesting discussion. I felt like Twitter was good for Andrews. Even though he was away from the team last year, Twitter allowed Andrews to keep fans (and the media) up to date on what he was doing and what progress he was making (and what he was eating, of course, also).
His Tweets were pretty harmless. Gonzo described them in a column a couple weeks ago. But perhaps to teams or others who are not familiar with what Twitter actually is, Andrews' little hobby (like music) could be perceived as another distraction, or another non-football related activity that didn't need to be publicized.
Meanwhile, no reports of teams showing interest in Andrews have surfaced, but that's not surprising. I wouldn't expect anyone to take a look until Andrews is further along in rehabbing from his most recent back surgery. Obviously, as we've seen in the past, a specific time period with Andrews is difficult to predict, but it would be reasonable to think he might have to wait until training camp before seriously exploring his options.

Who would take him? The rest of his life will, no doubt, be spent searching for Mr. Right. Or is it Mr. Random? Shame the Eagles are still saddled with his lazy brother. dragoon6
This lazy "brother" - nice racial innuendo, dragoon6. And in case you haven't heard, the Eagles are "saddled" with Andrews anymore. p-diddy
p-diddy, I don't think anything racial was intended. Shawn's brother is still wtih the Eagles. Yes, Stacy Andrews is African American too, but when dragoon6 refers to "his lazy brother" I think he's referring to Shawn's biological brother. Don't be so sensitive! It may be time to stop the Shawn Andrew bashing because that guy may have bigger problems than not having a job or any of us being disappointed Eagles fans. Maybe the media could stop focusing on the stupid "tweets and report on stories remotely related to football and employed football players? frankenslade

My interest in this young man became fully exhausted once he was cut. Best of luck in your future endeavors, I'm truly sorry you couldn't maximize your god-given talent as an Eagle, it could have beautiful. The Reddgie- Smart move by Shawn. I’m thinking other athletes should follow suit…To me, there is just something that doesn’t fit by putting yourself out there to the masses in that way. It kind of ties in with all this reality entertainment that goes on these days. It seems some people see Twitter, YouTube and the like as a vehicle to get themselves their own audience and quite possibly become a star in some way. But it’s like they don’t realize entertainment is a profession, and it takes a certain skill set to become an entertainer. And a lot of times what happens when a non-professional bares their soul to the masses, they wind up doing or saying something that they regret almost immediately. And that in itself can take a heavy toll on a person…point being- leave the entertaining to the pros. They are taught how to handle the pressures of their position.
pdiddy, he IS his brother bigsteve
WHO CARES??? He is not on our team anymore, and for good reasons, so why are people concerned about his twitter account? Flyers17
