Report: Steroids dealer said he supplied Vick

Dealer David Jacobs told the Dallas Morning-News in 2008 that he supplied Michael Vick with steroids when he played for the Atlanta Falcons.

The obvious question is: Why are we hearing about this now, two years later?

Per today's report, the News did not publish Jacobs' comments initially because authorities would not confirm that Vick was part of the Jacobs investigation.

Jacobs is no longer alive. Authorities say he killed himself and his girlfriend in June 2008.

The paper decided to publish the report now because of a document released earlier this month, which showed federal investigators questioned Vick about steroids back in October of 2007.

Per the document, a DEA informant told authorities Vick told a steroids/human growth hormone dealer that he liked his product during a 2006 Christmas party. During the Oct. 2007 Vick investigation, he said the conversation never happened and that he had never used steroids/human growth hormone.

Details of the alleged 2006 conversation matched what Jacobs told the News. Jacobs told the paper that he attended the 2006 Christmas party in question.

Championship Game Picks

SAINTS (-3.5) vs. Vikings
JETS (+8) at Colts

I like a Saints-Colts Super Bowl, but I think the number in the AFC championship is too high.

Minnesota's defensive line impressed me last week against Dallas, but New Orleans is so savvy offensively, creating mismatches and finding ways to keep pressure off Drew Brees, that I think the Saints will be able to score.

We'll have plenty of observations Sunday after each game so be sure to check back.

Wolf, you disgusting, lying miscreant, way to work D-Mac into the allegations. And if he did turn up on a list, you'd be celebrating as if you finally got laid by something other than a farm animal, and be posting non-stop.

Boy if they had serious testing in the NFL it truly would be the not for long league. Pat and Kevin Williams tested positive for a steroids masking agent. They claimed it was an ingredient in a weight loss supplement. The weight loss supplement must not work. Those dudes are fat. While the size and stature of the average American man have been shrinking during the last 50 years, the weight of NFL tackles have increased from 250-350 lbs. The Refrigerator was a novelty who stood out at a glance weighing 310 lbs in 1985. How does this happen?

David Jacobs was upset that Matt Lehr was doing his girlfriend, so he decided all the Falcons were on roids.....and when that didnt work out as planned, he ended it all (and ended it all for her too).

Now Vick can say his horrible animal abuse and cruelness came from steroid rage? This guy is just like Kobe Bryant talking about God and finding his Lord, then as soon as their trouble has passed, they revert back to their arrogant ways (he was NOT well liked in Atlanta, from what I understand). You notice no more religious talismans around Kobe's neck anymore and quoting the bible and Dr King?

All you have to do is look at Stacy Andrews, with his puffed up face and sloping distorted cranium to know he's a user. Who are these guys kidding? Why is anyone still rooting for these lawbreaking mercenaries?

Ever think that maybe the source of the alleged conversation was Jacobs?

What are you talking about? Numerous NFL officials have told us how great their testing policy is and that there is no widespread use of steroids or HGH in the league. Do you think that they would all lie to us? Perish the thought.

The guy murdered his girlfriend and killed himself. Jacobs had no credibility. Only a fool would believe him without solid evidence. There's no story here. Move on.

that should help his trade value, for all the negative press MLB gets for steriod use, [and it's all deserved], it's hard to imagine the NFL doesn't have a steriod issue with it's players that isn't as bad as baseball
