'Unusual' one-car accident against pole in Lower Merion

 

A Montgomery County dispatcher reported this afternoon that the driver of a vehicle that came to rest with the front end up on a utility pole after an accident on E. Montgomery Avenue near Glenn Road in Lower Merion was not hurt.

 

The report was called in to dispatcher at 5:17 p.m., and multiple rescue units were sent to the scene.

 

A report from Breaking News Network, a company which monitors radio chatter, said the driver was still in the vehicle at 5:17. The network termed the one-car wreck "an unusual incident."

 

By 5:40 p.m., two rescue units and a fire chief were working to stabilize the car before the driver, identified by the dispatcher as a man, could be safely removed.
