A 25-year-old North Wales, Montgomery County, woman has been arrested and charged with drug offenses, Lansdale police said today.
Anita Lynn Rocchino, of the 200 block N. 10th Street in North Wales, was picked up by police Sept. 9 and charged with possession of heroin and other offenses after officers allegedly observed a drug deal at the corner of E. Main and Chestnut streets in Lansdale.
Police received a tip that Rocchino was selling heroin in Lansdale, and on July 13, police watched while a known heroin user waited, on a local corner. A short time later, a white VW Jetta driven by Rocchino arrived. The subject entered the car and got out a few seconds later, police said.
On Sept. 9, the same person waited at the intersection. A short time later, Rocchino arrived in the same vehicle. An officer observed a drug transaction and stopped the Jetta. Rocchino allegedly admitted possessing heroin; 13 bags of suspected heroin were found on Rocchino, and her car contained numerous hypodermic needles and a spoon, police said.
Rocchino was charged with possessing and selling drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was arraigned before District Justice Andrea Hudak Duffy who set bail at $20,000 unsecured. Rocchino was taken to the Montgomery County prison after a probation detainer was lodged against her by Montgomery County Adult Probation.
