Lansdale’s annual bike rodeo is set for May 5

The Lansdale Borough Police and the Lansdale Parks and Recreations Department are conducting their 2012 Annual Bike Rodeo.

The rodeo will be held in the upper lot at Whites Road Park on Saturday, May 5. The event starts at 9 a.m.

Police Chief Robert McDyre said the day will include safety instruction and a bicycle safety course led by members of the Lansdale Police Bike Patrol.

Kids can have their bikes registered with the Police Department and their bikes inspected for safety by volunteers from the Pedaller Bike Shop.

Lansdale Parks and Rec will also provide free bike helmets in different sizes for kids that need one, while supplies last.

Soft pretzels, drinks and coloring books will be provided free of charge.

The event is free. The rain date is Saturday May 12.
