Feeling like you want to go to a big birthday bash, but yours is months away? Well, party with Upper Merion Township the as it celebrates its Tricentennial Community Weekend Friday and Saturday.

The township’s party will include carnival games, rides, music and, of course, food. A parade in honor of the big 300 will be Saturday.

Friday’s festivities run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Heuser Park on Geerdes Blvd. in King of Prussia. Saturday’s also are at the park, from noon to 11 p.m. The parade is set to start at 1 p.m. from the Upper Merion Area High School, 435 Crossfield Rd in King of Prussia.

With parties often comes traffic. The township warns drivers to “expect intermittent delays on Route 23. Electronic signs are posted near the parade route, in an effort to keep residents informed.”

For more information, call the township Parks and Recreation Department at 610-265-1071 or go online www.umtinfo@umtownship.org or the Tricentennial’s Facebook at www.facebook.com/umtownship.
