Celebrating the Earth at Montgomery Mall

Get a jump on celebrating Earth Day on April 22, by going to a celebration on April 20 at the Montgomery Mall. Lots of tips and helpful (free!) activities, including elecxtornic and equipment recycling.

Montgomery Mall, with an assist from the Montgomery Township Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC), will hold its annual event celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 20, featuring free residential paper shredding from 10 a.m. until noon, and electronic and equipment recycling (no televisions orntgomery Mall. The event will be in the parking lot behind Dick's Sporting Goods.

"Residents are invited to bring their used electronics and equipment, with the exception of televisions and household appliances, as well as up to three boxes of paper for the free and complimentary recycling and shredding services," according to a press release from Simon Property Group, owner of the mall.

While the shredding and recycling occurs outside, inside on the Macy's Court lower level, beginning at 11 a.m., experts will give advice and demonstrate composting, energy conservation, rain and store water management, rain barrels, and making raised bed gardens. There also will be a crafts station for kids and a live animal presentation from the Briar Bush Nature Center.
