Craft beer and closed roads
See how a road closed for installation of a water main, and next week's King of Prussia Beerfest Royale, are somehow put in the same blog posting.
I have two tidbits to report that are completely different, except that they both have to do with liquids, sort of — a road closing for a water-main installation and the second annual King of Prussia Beerfest Royale. Which to write about first?
Road closing? Beerfest?
Well, since I adamantly believe one should never drink before driving, I will start with the road closing.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that Aqua Pennsylvania will reduce County Line Road from four lanes to two lanes between Blair Mill Road and Madison Avenue in Warminster Township, Bucks County and Hatboro Borough, Montgomery County, beginning Sept. 30 and likely running through December for the installation of a water main.
The road closure will be on weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area," PennDOT said.

Meanwhile, you might want to plan on a designated driver or a taxi ferrying you to and from the second annual King of Prussia Beerfest Royale coming up next week.
The beerfest — billed as "largest Craft & International Beer Festival in the suburban Philadelphia Region!" — is presented by the King of Prussia District and will be on two days.
A happy hour will take place on On Thursday, Oct. 3. It will be called Donnerstag, which is German for "We like to drink beer!" Actually, it is German for "Thursday."
The main event will be two sessions on Saturday, Oct. 5, featuring more than 50 brewers, 100 beers, live music, and food from local restaurants.
It will be held outdoors at The Plaza at the King of Prussia Mall parking lot adjacent to Mall Boulevard.
Tickets are $45 each if bought in advance and $55 if bought on the day of the event. Throw in $10 more, and get your designated driver a ticket. What will he or she be able to do?
"A special Designated Driver Lounge filled with non-alcoholic drinks and freebies will be open to all Designated Driver ticket holders courtesy of Wegmans King of Prussia," event organizers say.
