Arrest made in armed robbery at pharmacy

A Skippack man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in January at a pharmacy on Ridge Pike in Lower Providence, police said Friday, March 9.

Morrison Vo, 20, of the 4000 block of Annandale Drive, Skippack, was arrested Friday on charges of robbery and related offenses by Lower Providence police and troopers from the the Skippack Barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police.

Vo was taken into custody without incident.

The arrest stems from an armed robbery at the Walgreen’s Pharmacy in the 2900 block of Ridge Pike on Jan. 17, 2012.

Shortly after 10 p.m., police said Vo entered the store and brandished a gun, demanding that employees open a safe in the manager’s office. Vo took a large amount of cash from the safe and fled.

Vo was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Cathleen Rebar who set bail at $100,000.00. He was committed to the Montgomery County prison when he could not make bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 14 at 1:30 p.m. at Rebar’s court in Collegeville.
