A gator goes a-courting for Wissahickon students

Students from Wissahickon High School in Ambler had a different venue for their prom this year - the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, where they mingled with a very large alligator. Very large.

What do you buy an alligator who is a prom date? Whatever he wants, hardy-har-har.

While most area students probably went to traditional locales for their high school proms, an Ambler  high school's party-goers went dancing with creatures of the deep.

Wissahickon High School students went to their recent prom at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden. Here are some photos, courtesy of the Adventure Aquarium, of students with Mighty Mike, the 800-pound, 14-foot alligator that is visiting the aquarium through Labor Day. Here's who you are seeing in each photo (besides Mighty Mike).

In the first photo, pictured from left are Michael Trycieckyj of Blue Bell, and Jacob Bowman and Tammy Huynh of Ambler.  In the second photo, Megan McDevitt of Ambler, and Juliet Mellon and Christina Buono of Blue Bell blow kisses to Mighty Mike because, well, because no one wants to get on his bad side.
