Pantone announced Wednesday that emerald green is its 2013 color of the year.
The color of precious stones. The color of Midori moscato. The color of money.
I thought Pantone was going to go in a bluer direction - think Carrie Bradshaw's boudoir in the first Sex and the City - but I can dig this greener option. It's clean. It's fresh. It's metallicky. It's rich and it signifies change.
The Accessories Council may be based in New York, but it's run by a local woman.
Karen Giberson lives in Media, but she has been at its forefront, turning the Accessories Council into one of fashion's top trade organizations. Their picks aren't only our seasonal favorites. Their favorite designers and trendsetters actually become household names. (Giberson was all about Lady Gaga BEFORE the meat suit.)
Last night The Accessories Council presented their must-have fashion items of the 2012 holiday season to top fashion bloggers at the Manhattan Lord & Taylor flagship. The event was the top hashtag of the night in New York City.
Anne Hathaway is hot these days. The actress is hearing Oscar buzz for her role in Les Misérables - you know the one she lost a zillion billion pounds to star in. And that haircut, on this month's Glamour mag, it's well, different.
That got me to thinking. Several of our favorite celebrities decided to get friendly with sheers and snip their trademark locks. From singer/song writer, Alicia Keys to actress, Lena Dunham, celebs are opting for shorter, sportier tendrils - even with longer layers remaining the top must-have style.
What do you think of the chic, short looks? Is short sassy this holiday season?
