If you aren't too busy today, walk on  down to 19th and Walnut and check out new Center City boutique, Zahra Saeed. The boutique is interesting because the pretty, Pakistani-born designer not just opened her own boutique, she designed all of the chic pieces neatly hanging on the silver racks. Think of the pieces as updated classics - fitted sheaths, pencil skirts, arm-bearing tops. (Actually, now that we think about it, it's very Michelle Obama). Last night the grand opening was packed with fashion insiders sipping wine. Marisa Guaglione-Stevens, president of Fashion Group International, as well as the classically well-dressed Julia Summers Morley. (Her hat last night was fierce, and yes, darling, you can wear color!)  A happening event, happening times and happening clothes. Check it out! But leave the grey, matte jersey Elizabeth tank. You will know it by it's ruffled neck. It's mine! Any other new boutiques out there worth writing about?

About Elizabeth Wellington
I’m a Libra so I’m all about pretty things. We of the scales sign know what we like, and our standards are high. So I can’t help but love fashion – one day I will get that Diane von Furstenberg wrap and those Christian Louboutin shoes. And fragrances? My favorite right now is Chanel Mademoiselle. As for makeup, can we say MAC? So let’s thank the Greek goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, that a true fashionista can find everything she needs right here in Philly. I’ve covered fashion here for six years, and I have traveled to New York, Los Angeles and Paris to write about local and national designers. Let me tell you, there is no place where people wear midnight Eagles green or Phillies red with such wild abandon as they do on the west side of the Ben Franklin Bridge. Sound familiar? This blog is for you.
