It's no surprise that Michelle Obama's turquoise, v-necked, double faced cashmere sheath dress was designed by her Chicago-based designer Maria Pinto. What was surprising was the brooch was just something she had in her jewelry box. What taste in accessories! According to Laura Schwartz, a former adviser to the wife of former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, the pendant was reminiscent of Barack's rising sun campaign logo. And, Schwartz said, the pendant was placed over Michelle's heart, so it might have symbolized that her speech was coming straight from her heart. Makes me wonder what will be the inspiration for Hillary Clinton's suit tonight. Did you like Michelle Obama's look?

Forget the pendant; the story is her hair! IT was like silk. It seconded all her thoughts; a living entity that deserves its own platform. Was she fresh from the chair? Did Oprah lend her Andre? Find out.

Girl, you are so right. Her hair was fabulous. Maybe Oprah did lend her Andre. Maybe she just has some hot Dominicans blowing out her hair. I appreciate your comment!

    It's not a pendant - it's a brooch or pin!

About Elizabeth Wellington
I’m a Libra so I’m all about pretty things. We of the scales sign know what we like, and our standards are high. So I can’t help but love fashion – one day I will get that Diane von Furstenberg wrap and those Christian Louboutin shoes. And fragrances? My favorite right now is Chanel Mademoiselle. As for makeup, can we say MAC? So let’s thank the Greek goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, that a true fashionista can find everything she needs right here in Philly. I’ve covered fashion here for six years, and I have traveled to New York, Los Angeles and Paris to write about local and national designers. Let me tell you, there is no place where people wear midnight Eagles green or Phillies red with such wild abandon as they do on the west side of the Ben Franklin Bridge. Sound familiar? This blog is for you.
