Sandy Alexander never loved carrying a handbag. But like all girls on the town, she needed a sleek place to pack her identification, foldable bills, keys and, of course, lipstick. So the 37-year-old Conshohocken wife invented The Bucklette. We like the concept. Clutches never seem to work. And slinging a bag over your shoulders is oh so clumsy on the dance floor. Right now the Bucklette is available on-line, although Alexander is looking for local boutiques willing to sell her product. There are two versions of The Bucklette, one is a clip on - that's $92. The other attaches to a wide belt and would be a cool accessory for a Michelle Obama-style sheath (I couldn't resist.) I'm going to try it out, but I already see one problem as I'm a driver and I can't fit my house keys and car keys in The Bucklette. Maybe there is a way to improvise. Anyway, I'll try my-clip on Bucklette next time I'm out on the scene and give you a report. Any thoughts on The Bucklette?

It's certainly a fashionable step-up from the fanny/waistpack look. And, speaking of handbags... I'm counting on you to get the scoop on that cool blue bag that Kelly Ripa is carrying in the new TD Bank ad with Regis. Whose bag is it?

About Elizabeth Wellington
I’m a Libra so I’m all about pretty things. We of the scales sign know what we like, and our standards are high. So I can’t help but love fashion – one day I will get that Diane von Furstenberg wrap and those Christian Louboutin shoes. And fragrances? My favorite right now is Chanel Mademoiselle. As for makeup, can we say MAC? So let’s thank the Greek goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, that a true fashionista can find everything she needs right here in Philly. I’ve covered fashion here for six years, and I have traveled to New York, Los Angeles and Paris to write about local and national designers. Let me tell you, there is no place where people wear midnight Eagles green or Phillies red with such wild abandon as they do on the west side of the Ben Franklin Bridge. Sound familiar? This blog is for you.
