Radnor High School graduate, Eric Domesek will be signing copies of her book, P.S. I Made This (Abrams Image, $18.95) at the Tory Burch store in King of Prussia on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The book is a recyclable call to arms:   Domesek defines her book and website as  a movement to re-imagine , re-use, and re-invent. In other words, I see it. I like it. I make it.

To be honest, most of these DIY books get on my nerves. How much jewelry or pocketbooks made out of denim does one woman need? But a quick glance and I realized these aren't as cheesy, made-in-the-garage  looks, but pretty of-the-moment fashions.  And she does everything with five golden tools: scissors, pliers, glue gun, a hammer and a hole puncher.  The book features more than 25 projects - I think the handbags are most interesting -  and they range from Lucite bangles to faux fur vests to studded heels. (I have to admit I'd rather a pair of Louboutins)

Nonetheless, we give props to Domesek who lives in New York City and has styled campaigns for major brands including Anthropologie, Kate Spade, Bloomingdale's and Helmut Lang.  Do you have a fave DIY fashion project?

About this blog

I’m a Libra so I’m all about pretty things. We of the scales sign know what we like, and our standards are high.

So I can’t help but love fashion – one day I will get that Diane von Furstenberg wrap and those Christian Louboutin shoes.

And fragrances? My favorite right now is Chanel Mademoiselle. As for makeup, can we say MAC?

So let’s thank the Greek goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, that a true fashionista can find everything she needs right here in Philly.

I’ve covered fashion here for six years, and I have traveled to New York, Los Angeles and Paris to write about local and national designers. Let me tell you, there is no place where people wear midnight Eagles green or Phillies red with such wild abandon as they do on the west side of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Sound familiar? This blog is for you.
