Career Wardrobe's  Style Me Hired event in September will bring together Philadelphia's beauty industry to help 100 of our region's unemployed women with makeovers and professional clothing to help them look for a job.

So Salons, this blog is for you.

Career Wardrobe needs 25 salons to makeover four women a piece.  They need the salons by the end of August.  So far they only have eight, so they really need you all to sign up. C'mon it's for a good cause. Inters ted salons should call Career Wardrobe at 215-568-6693 x12  or email Sheri Cole at  scole@careerwardrobe.org.

If you are an unemployed woman looking for help, log on to www.stylemehired.com  and fill out our online form.  Winners must be over 18, unemployed and willing to change their look.  Of course, Career Wardrobe will be providing each winner with a free professional outfit to help her with her job search, too!

What do you think about this? Tell us about your fashion experience and the job market? Any women who participated in last year's event? Did it help you?

About this blog

I’m a Libra so I’m all about pretty things. We of the scales sign know what we like, and our standards are high.

So I can’t help but love fashion – one day I will get that Diane von Furstenberg wrap and those Christian Louboutin shoes.

And fragrances? My favorite right now is Chanel Mademoiselle. As for makeup, can we say MAC?

So let’s thank the Greek goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, that a true fashionista can find everything she needs right here in Philly.

I’ve covered fashion here for six years, and I have traveled to New York, Los Angeles and Paris to write about local and national designers. Let me tell you, there is no place where people wear midnight Eagles green or Phillies red with such wild abandon as they do on the west side of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Sound familiar? This blog is for you.
