Some 1,500 people took to Center City streets Monday during a march to raise awareness for various platforms of social change.

As the many allied activists made their way along Market Street — eventually ending up outside Independence Hall for a rally — Inquirer staff reporter Aubrey Whelan got some of the marchers to say why they showed up to walk on Martin Luther King Day.
