New name for Hangley Aronchick

The firm adds the name of partner Ronald Shiller, who joined from DLA Piper in 2009

The Center City firm of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin said Monday that it has added partner Ronald Schiller to the name of the firm.

Firm chairman William Hangley said the decision, confirmed by a vote of the firm's shareholders, reflected the view at the 52 lawyer firm that Schiller and other lawyers who joined the firm from DLA Piper two years ago had made substantial business contribution and had blended well with the existing team.

"Ron Schiller and his group had really contributed tremendously to the success of the firm, not only by bringing in business but broadening our client base," Hangley said.

Schiller joined the firm in 2009 with two partners and three associates from DLA Piper, one of the largest firms in the world. Hangley said that Schiller's insurance litigation practice generated work for other commercial practice areas at the firm, a form of business development often referred to in the legal world as cross marketing.

The firm henceforth will be known as Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller.

"It was an honor to be invited to join Hangley Aronchick two years ago, and it's an even greater honorr to be recognized by the shareholders of the firm in this special way," Schiller said.
