Over the years, I’ve written about Amy Dinning’s workshop, “Jump Start Your Job Search.” Dinning assembles a crew of people who have worked with the unemployed or people wanting to make a change and then gets them to present their best tips in an all-day workshop. Next one is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Church of the Saviour, 651 N. Wayne Ave., Wayne.
Dinning is a longtime volunteer in groups, such as My Career Transitions, that help the unemployed and she’s been unemployed herself. The main focus of the workshop, which costs $10, is networking and that’s key, because many people who lose their jobs also lose confidence in themselves. Part of the group’s goal is to provide hope as well as practical tips.
To register, click here and pay with a credit card. Registration closes at the end of the day Wednesday, Oct. 18. Snacks and sandwiches will be provided, but participants should bring business cards.
