The War on Drugs at Penn Treaty Park

The Philebrity sponsored Waterfont Wednesdays concert series at Penn Treaty Park in Fishtown that started warming up with Jack Rose last week gets cooking at 7 tonight with the The War on Drugs. The Philadelphia trio whose last LP, Wagonwheel Blues, was the standout of the local indie scene in 2008, are playing their only scheduled hometown date of the summer after touring Spain last month. (WOD guitarist Kurt Vile, however, who was recently signed to Matador Records, plays the Vox Populi gallery on August 16 and a free show in Rittenhouse Square on August 19.) Tonight, Hunter/Gatherer opens. Here's a "Needle In Your Eye."
