Tinariwen Tonight

The great desert blues band Tinariwen plays the Trocadero tonight. It's their Philadelphia debut. The Southern Sahara guitar army has just released Tassilli, its first album on the  Anti- label which aims to expand the Touareg group's stateside following with guest spots from Nels Cline of Wilco and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, among others, that don't have a lot of impact, positively or negatively, in altering the transfixing Tinariwen sound. Below, 25 minutes of the band weaving their spidery web at a show in Paris earlier this year.
