Questlove and Bruce Springsteen to induct Hall & Oates and the E Street Band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Michael Stipe, Chris Martin, Tom Morello are among other inductors.

The inductors who will induct the inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next week in Brooklyn have been announced.

On the Philadelphia front, pop-soul duo Hall and Oates will be speechified by The Roots drummer and Tonight Show bandleader Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson. Bruce Springsteen will talk up his own backing unit, the E Street Band. Current provisional E Street Band member Tom Morello will pen an ode to Kiss. Michael Stipe will send in Nirvana.

Coldplay's Chris Martin, in his first public appearance since becoming uncoupled from Gwyneth Paltrow, will induct Peter Gabriel. Linda Ronstadt will be praised by Glen Frey of the Eagles, and be the subject of a musical tribute featuring Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow. Cat Stevens will perform; his inductor is yet to be announced.

Beatles and Rolling Stones managers Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham are also getting into the Rock Hall, the former posthumously. Their tributors have yet to be announced.

The 2014 ceremony will be held at the Barclays Center, and is open ot the public for the first time. Very expensive tickets remain. The show will be on HBO on May 31.
