Paul McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana didn't do a Beatles song last night at the 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief, which Mick Jagger referred to as "the largest collection of old English musicians ever assembled."
And they didn't do a Nirvana song, either. Instead, they did the smarter thing: A brand new song called "Cut Me Some Slack" recorded "months ago," according to Grohl in a post show interview in which he accurately described it as "heavy as f---."

It was great that Michael Stipe made an appearance because many of his fans were under the impression that he was tired of the music Industry. He's a great singer, human and humanitarian. And I hope that he decides to either get R.E.M. back together or do another project in music like in a Superband or something. Wendell Gee
Couldn't they have more American musicians? There were a ton of old geezers from the UK. Can Daltry & Townshend just retire now? Keith Richards looked really strange too like he was sucking wind. BobbyD
Probably hasn't been that many dinosaurs in NY since the Paleozoic age ended! habitualloser2
Hey BobbyD, who about thanking those old Brits for donating their time and skills to help raise funds for those in need on our side of the pond.
But nooooooo, you could not do that. TheHammer
That song by McCartney and Grohl was horrible! Sounded like they put that together 5 minutes before the show. bluevalues
