Parquet Courts at Morgan's Pier

Punk-rock in the shadow of the Ben Franklin Bridge.

For my money, the high point of this year's Wednesday night free bands series at Morgan's Pier arrives tonight when Brooklyn post-punk band Parquet Courts play the Delaware Ave. outdoor venue.

The band's Light Up Gold album is one of the the best of 2013, even though it technically came out in 2012 on the Savage's Dull Tools label before being issued this year on What's Your Rupture? Steve Kl;nge's interview with the band from the Inquirer in May is here.

Woods are also on the bill. The music gets going around 9. "Stoned & Starving," from this year's SXSW, is below. Morgan's Pier info here. Craig LaBan's review of chef George Sabatino's cuisine is here.
