Made in America schedule announced

POSTED: Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 10:22 PM

At long last, we've got our grubby little hands on the the minute-by-minute schedule for the Budweiser Made in America festival on the Ben Franklin Parkway this weekend. Keep it mind that this is not totally finalized and could change. Just yesterday Chris Cornell dropped out, and there are still a few TBDs - to be determineds - on the lineup, so there should be more names forthcoming.

The Rocky Stage is the main stage in front of the Art Museum and the Liberty stage is the second stage.

Immediate observations: The fest willl kick off killing with Gary Clark Jr. at 2 p.m. on the main stage. The Sunday afternoon main stage lineup is loaded from start to finish, with Santigold into Jill Scott into Run DMC into Drake.

And the coolest thing about the schedule by far is that X, the veteran Los Angeles punk band who will be teaching the young'uns a thing or two, are not buried in an early spot but get to go on the Liberty Stage on Sunday at 8, setting the table nicely for Pearl Jam, who get to play a full two hours, the longest set of the weekend. You can check back here at In The Mix, or here, for updates. See the schedule after the jump.

The Hives & Santigold are the only acts worth seeing on this whole "so what" bill.

Yeah, I bet tens of thousands of people are going there just to see The Hives and Santigold.

Those who live in Fairmount area hate that this is coming right to our doorstep during a holiday weekend, with not a peep from anyone from the city telling us what we are in for. They don't need our permission to hold a concert in public space, but it would have been nice to at least know what is going on. Picture Woodstock coming to your block, and you only know about it from newspaper reports. This is all frustrating and baffling. The neighborhood looks like a war zone.

dloyle, you knew what you were signing up for when you moved into the neighborhood. If you don't like it, move out.

At least Fairmounters can share their hostage or prisoner status with concert-goers; both groups will be forced to stay in their homes or fenced-in area for the duration. And, once inside the concert venue, the "hip, urban setting" that was so vital for this extravaganza will not be visible due to the scrim. I cannot believe that the city willingly opted for this inanity.

The added bonus of going to this concert is knowing that along with getting drunk, having a good time, and listening to a bunch of different music, is that none of you hate and fear-mongering philly.com posters will be there! Have fun staying at home and posting more lame, unfunny jokes about how many shootings there will be or how much this is costing the city! You won't be missed!
