Jay Z at the Wells Fargo Center

Fresh off winning a Grammy for best rap/sung collaboration for his "Holy Grail" collaboration with Justin Timberlake - which he promised to take home for his daughter Blue Ivy to use as a ""sippy  cup" - Jay Z brought his Magna Carter World Tour to the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night.

Hitting the stage just as 9;30, the rapper/entertainment mogul and curator of the annual Made In America festival was playing his first non-festival solo show in Philadelphia since 2009.

The 44 year old emcee commended the crowd with ease, fronting a full band that included his long tome producer collaborator Timbaland as keyboardist and beat programmer.

By the time he took a mid show break to step off and leaving the stage to Timbaland and guest Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill, Hova had already ranged across nearly 20 years of his career, pulling "Dead Presidents" from his 1996 album Reasonable Doubt, and rapping in tandem to his wife's recorded voice on "Drunk In Love" from her celebrated album Beyonce.
