Girls, Girls, Girls

Girls, Girls, Girls

Or rather, Girls and Dum Dum Girls. That's the bang-up double bill at the Making Time party at Voyeur (the former Pure) on St. James street tonight. Girls are the San Francisco band of two guys led by Christopher Owens whose woozy sad songs are balanced by a dash of Beach Boys bop. That's them on the bus above, with lots of actual girls. Girls Album was one of the best of 2009. Dum Dum Girls are the buzzed about Los Angeles quartet whose I Will Be debut, out this week on SubPop, puts their low-fi girl-group noise-pop sound in the hands of Blondie producer Richard Gottehrer. Below, Dee Dee Dum Dum goes to jail. Tickets here.
