French chanteuse and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg is at the TLA tonight. The Golden Door and Antichrist star's album IRM, which was entirely written and produced by Beck, comes out Tuesday. My interview with Gainsbourg about brain surgery and music in today's Inky is here. Below is the non-sequitorial video for the album's first single, "Heaven Can Wait," and a stream of Gainsbourg teaming up with Calexico to cover of Bob Dylan's "Just Like A Woman," from the soundtrack to Todd Haynes' pomo Dylan bio I'm Not There, in which Gainsbourg played a conflation of Dylan's wife Sara and Freewheelin' cover girlfriend Suze Rotolo. Snippets of IRM can be heard here. Look for a review of Gainsbourg's show in Monday's Inky.
