All credit to the guy who called WIP last night on my way to Citizens Bank Park hoping for a shut-down 8 innings from Cliff Lee, the Phillies lefthander who he dubbed "C.L. Smooth," after the old-school rapper who was one half of the hip-hop duo Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth.  Good call, caller. Perhaps even more inspired than fans chanting "H-G-H!" - that stands for human growth hormone - during Manny Ramirez' at-bats. And thanks, Mr. Lee: One day we will reminisce over you.

I swear to God I listened to this song last night in a bar after the game and I'd never heard anyone make this connection. Weird.
