Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris guest on new Pete Seeger album on West Chester's Appleseed Recordings

West Chester's Appleseed Recordings will release two new albums by 93 year old folk legend Pete Seeger on September 25. One will be a set of brand new songs called A More Perfect Union featuring guest artists including Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris and Tom Morello. Springsteen sings on the disc's opening song "God's Counting On Me ... God's Counting On You."

The second release, Pete Remembers Woody, will be a 2 CD set celebrating Seeger's friend and "quasi-mentor" Woody Guthrie, who would have turned 100 on Bastille Day had he not died in 1967 of complications from Huntington's chorea. It includes spoken word remembrances of Guthrie by Seeger, Guthrie songs sung by Seeger and Woody's son Arlo and a vintage recording of Woody.

Springsteen's version of "We Shall Overcome," which became the title to his 2006 Seeger Sessions album, was originally recorded for a 1998 Seeger tribute album recorded for Appleseed.
