A.A. Bondy at Kung Fu Necktie

A.A. Bondy at Kung Fu Necktie

Sepia-toned songwriter A.A. Bondy "could drink the world, and never get my fill." So he sings in "Oh The Vampyre," one of the standouts on the new When The Devil's Loose, which I guess ought to end up on the True Blood soundtrack, or at least the Vampire Diaries. Bondy used to lead the Nirvana-esque band Verbena, but since his 2007 solo debut, American Hearts, he's been more of a steeped-in-Americana and a little Mississppi John Hurt lone troubadour kind of guy who might partially record an album in a converted chicken coop, as he did with the When The Devil's Loose. He'll have a band behind him tonight, however, when he plays the Kung Fu Necktie in Fishtown.
