Timo is a standup guy. He problaby could have begged-off that interview and avoided answering tough questions but he didn't. As long as guys like Timo are prepared to gut it out there's hope. Super guy and a heck of a hockey player. He's playing hurt and he's still better than a lot of D-men. WildwoodDays
Timo is fine but obviously something is wrong with this team. Has the coach lost the team? shawnmac- I am worried that the coach has lost the Captain due to his latest comments lose the Captain and his core of friends will follow Homer may have to step in and fix this before playoffs. In Richards defense he has not had set linemates all season leftout of shootouts. Issues with Pronger hope they put that behind them and mike earns his money and puts team first and rallies the boys

Let's not start the "coach is the problem" stuff. The problem is the core players who haven't stepped to the plate. If they do go one and done, then Homer needs to clean house. Richards, Hartnell, Carter, Carcillo, Powe, O'Donnell, Coburn, Shelly. Sounds like a lot? Sure but who ever replaces these heartless players will be better than being in 1st and not bringing effort game after game. whsbuss
A good captain or leader leads by exampel along with a strong voice.I am a big Mike Richards fan but his actions on the ice havent been there not just goal scoring the physical and heart aspect has been missing. This is not all on Richards you can look up and down the lineup with the core players. This problem has plagued this team for years from its core group. It seems they play down to thier competition but when the game gets intense (Pittsburg)they stepup.100points i think 7 20goal scorers is a great season but what frustrates us all is the lack of intrest game to game.I believe when the intensity of the playoffs come around this team will stepup (at least i hope).A few more after whistel scrums glove washes 2 guys in on the forecheck a couple of bodies layedout in front of the our net.On sunday I would love to see 4 shifts in a row of intense forecheck to open the game and if they dont match the Rangers intensity it will be a long day. rich162416flyers
Yeah it looks concerning but everytime this team has their backs against the wall they come out on top. Case in point tommorows game against the Rangers. I think they will come out again with their best effort effort like they did against the Pens Tuesday. Fabulous
Maybe the captain should sound off a little bit more like Timo does. I mean he is the captain isnt he? sv1968
My heart went out to Kimmo. He did not have to do this interview. you can see ho he feels by looking at his eyes. Where is Richards? Nuff said, When Pronger gets back, he is going to be on Richards case and drive that little punk. Captain controversy, You got it. You heard it here first. ByeByeButtman
whsbuss, let me get this straight. In your scenario (one and done) you "clean house" on a 1st place team? Right! I don't agree that they will be "one & done" but if they are changes will need to be made but you don't "clean house" and start over on a 1st place team. Ernie D
As Mike Richards goes---so goes Flyers. He doesn't creatively produce offensively, with 20+ MOI a game then they cannot win. Romus
I have always liked Richards but I don't think he is captain material. Just like Lindros... you have to bring it every second of every shift, and I just don't see that in Richards. Not everyone was born to lead. Hopefully they have all just been saving it for the playoffs... but right now they are looking like a one and done team. Spazcat
