For the Flyers, Operation Playoff Push is in full swing.

They are on a 10-2-1 run _ including three straight victories _ and will try to avenge a blowout loss when they host the Dallas Stars on Thursday.

Dallas (32-25-11) has lost three straight and is two-points behind Phoenix for the last wild-card spot in the Western Conference,

The Stars, behind Tyler Seguin’s natural hat trick, scored a 5-1 win over the Flyers in Dallas on Dec. 7. Seguin, a 22-year-old center, has a career-high 31 goals, placing him seventh in the NHL.

Goalie Steve Mason (2.57 GAA, .914 save percentage), given the night off Tuesday after starting the previous eight games, is expected to face Dallas’ Tim Thomas (2.90, .908), who dominated the Flyers when he was with Boston. In his career against the Flyers, Thomas is 14-4-2 with a 2.21 goals-against average and .934 save percentage

Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen is 0-10-2 with a 3.50 goals-against average and .891 save percentage in his career against the Flyers.

The Flyers (36-25-7) are coming off a thrilling 3-2 overtime win over the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks. Claude Giroux scored the game-winner on a blast from the top of the right circle with 4.2 seconds left in overtime. Since Dec. 11, Giroux has 51 points, tops in the NHL.

Giroux is fourth in the NHL with 71 points, one more point than Seguin.

“Since the Olympic break he’s the hardest working guy everywhere you go,” winger Matt Read said. “He’s the first one here every day, and in his mind, it’s win, win, win at all cost. And any mistakes you make you hear about it on the bench from him. He just wants perfect from everybody, and his game has shown a lot.”

Added Read: “It’s fun to watch how talented he is. He’s being a true leader right now and that’s what we need in this last push here.”

The Flyers are 20-12-1 at home, while the Stars are 14-15-4 on the road.

Breakaways. The Flyers are 16-7-7 in one-goal games….Excluding an empty-net goal, Steve Downie is goal-less in his last 30 games…..The Flyers are 21-11 when outshooting their opponent, and 15-13-7 when they are outshot. They have had 30 or more shots in their last seven games…..Dallas captain Jamie Benn (27 goals) has points in seven of his last eight games.
