The Flyers made some roster moves on Thursday. Here is their press release:
The Flyers announced today that they have recalled recalled 5-11, 185-lb left wing Zac Rinaldo and 5-10, 180-lb defenseman Erik Gustafsson from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.
They will both be available for tonight’s 7 p.m. game vs. Winnipeg, with Rinaldo wearing #36 and Gustafsson wearing #26.
Rinaldo, 21, has appeared in five games for the Flyers so far this season. He recorded 28 PIM and also picked up his first NHL point with an assist on Oct. 18 at Ottawa.
Gustafsson, 22, comes to the Flyers for the first time this season. He has four assists in eight games for the Phantoms so far this season. Gustafsson appeared in three games for the Flyers last season, and also posted 49 points (5 goals, 44 assists) for the Phantoms in 72 appearances in 2010-11.
Holmgren also announced that C Brayden Schenn sustained a broken left foot in Wednesday's game at Montreal and will be out of action for four to six weeks.
Schenn, 20, was recalled by the Flyers on October 19 and has appeared in four games, going scoreless. Schenn has recorded four goals and four assists for eight points in four games for Adirondack so far this season, including a hat trick on October 14 in a 6-3 win vs. Bridgeport.
Additionally, Holmgren updated the status of D Chris Pronger. “Chris saw Dr. Goldman again today,” Holmgren said. “He continues to improve daily. Chris will start light exercise on the weekend.”
