Flyers captain Chris Pronger, bothered by a virus, will not play on Wednesday against the host New York Islanders, GM Paul Holmgren said.

Holmgren said Jaromir Jagr and Braydon Coburn will make the trip. Both are recovering from injuries.

In addition, Braydon Schenn was activated and loaned to AHL Adirondack, and Kevin Marshall was set to the Phantoms. Marshall was minus-1 in his NHL debut Monday in a 4-2 loss to Carolina.

Marc-Andre Bourdon will remain with the Flyers.

Harry Zolnierczyk was recalled from Trenton of the ECHL.

Tavares-179, Hedman-169, Duchene-182, Kane-158, ....Brayden Schenn-13. Those are the NHL games played for the top picks in the 2009 draft. Schenn better start doing something before he earns the tag "career minor leaguer"

Haven't you heard? Better to have an unproductive, injury prone prospect than a consistent 2 way center. Its been in all the papers. Shenn and Simmonds are wastes of space but give the guys on tv something to talk about.

I think he was referring to the grammar/editing. The story says "set", not "sent".

Lets see if the lady flyers show up again tonight. It's been pretty lack-luster of late and I would like to see a more physical approach to tonights game verses the Islanders. Too many guys skating by instead of playing the body.

You think Sam's grammar and editing skills are bad go over to Frank's recent post. Editing must not have been his strong suit. How he got a job with the inky I'll never know. I guess if you're a gossip writer it's ok to not edit your columns?
