Chicago Tribune depicts Pronger as a woman
Sam Carchidi, Inquirer Staff Writer
The Chicago Tribune depicted Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger as a woman, calling him "Chrissy Pronger" in its cover story Tuesday and putting a skirt on him in a photo.
Pronger said he hadn't seen the photo.
"I really couldn't care, to be honest with you," Pronger said. "I'm worried about playing the game."
Pronger was a career-worst minus-5 in Game 5; before that, he was the best player in the Finals.

Goalie Michael Leighton will start Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals against Chicago on Wednesday, Flyers coach Peter Laviolette indirectly announced.
Leighton, who had three shutouts in the conference finals, leads the NHL with a 2.34 GAA in the playoffs, but he has struggled in the Finals (4.01 GAA; .864 save percentage).
But with Brian Boucher not fully recoverd from knee injuries, it's the right choice.....the only choice.

The Flyers will host a free pep rally outside the Wachovia Center on Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. In addition to Flyers Alumni appearances and free hot dogs, Flyers fans can pose for photos with the Prince of Wales Trophy.
hey cheezteak, take your overmatched and shove it where the sun don't shine. You better not show up for the Broad St. parade dickwad. Phedupwithphilly
Guess the media and the fans of Chicago like seeing tall men scantily clad. The Flyers are at their most dangerous right now...with their backs against the wall. aerussel
Re: JonKap... Hilarious! A Chicago-area fan bad-mouthing OTHER politicians. Chicago invented political corruption! jman- Um, Chicago Tribune, it wasn't funny the first time when the New York Post did it for last year's World Series. What do you have planned for tomorrow's edition, a rip-off of a TJ Simers "column" from the 2001 76ers/Lakers Finals?...uhhh, what passes for journalism these days.
How 'bout a picture of Obama with all his BP money, Chi Tribune? Ah, thought so... 5280philly
Didn't know he was a transvestite, the Chicago for the on the spot reporting! Nitwits! STEPHEN1988
You are F#CKED now chicago! ArtieLange
Don't worry Phlyers Phans, Hawks will win on your ice, in front of your wonderful fans. Hopefully you stay to see the cup handed to Buff. Sorry, maybe next year (but I doubt it). NiemiNoNo
Phedupwithphilly, see you prove my point moron! We are already making plans for a parade and we are LOSING this series and can't decide which goalie to use. I'm sure Chicago loves watching Laviolette second guess himself out of the championship. Worse thing we can do is let them smell blood in the water. cheezsteak
The editor of this newspaper should be so proud and honored to publish such great news. This is why media guys never get the respect they deserve cause all they do is come up with stuff that has nothing to do with the game. Fabulous
NiemiNoNo, That's funny. When have the Hawks won a game in Philly? They surely won't start now. jman
That was pretty funny, when New York did the same thing 9 months ago for the World Series. Way to be original. Phils_World_Champs- Gotta throw this in- Besides just this Chicago Tribune stunt, the Chicago media has been a revelation to me, and in a bad way. Of course everyone has heard about the reputation of the Philly media being relentless and negative at times, but for this series, the Philly media has been head and shoulders above the Chicago media in the integrity and insight of their coverage. Not to badmouth all the press back in Chicago, but some of the drivel coming from there is the stuff of jealous teenage girls.
cheezsteak, when the games are played in Philly and Lavvy can dictate the lines better, it's a much closer matchup on paper. But they play on ice and at the level of play these guys are playing at, I do think that some of the talent differential can be made up through emotional play and intelligent game-planning. I agree that Chicago is stacked with talent, but sometimes the edge needed to win comes from somewhere other than talent, and they may have just stoked that fire when they shouldn't have. Bleue
