Chicago Tribune depicts Pronger as a woman

POSTED: Tuesday, June 8, 2010, 2:16 PM
The Chicago Tribune published this poster of Chris Pronger today.

Who wears the skirt for the Blackhawks?
Dustin Byfuglien
Ben Eager
Duncan Keith
Antti Niemi

The Chicago Tribune depicted Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger as a woman, calling him "Chrissy Pronger" in its cover story Tuesday and putting a skirt on him in a photo.

Pronger said he hadn't seen the photo.

"I really couldn't care, to be honest with you," Pronger said. "I'm worried about playing the game."

Pronger was a career-worst minus-5 in Game 5; before that, he was the best player in the Finals.

    Here is the link.

Goalie Michael Leighton will start Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals against Chicago on Wednesday, Flyers coach Peter Laviolette indirectly announced.

Leighton, who had three shutouts in the conference finals, leads the NHL with a 2.34 GAA in the playoffs, but he has struggled in the Finals (4.01 GAA; .864 save percentage).

But with Brian Boucher not fully recoverd from knee injuries, it's the right choice.....the only choice.

The Flyers will host a free pep rally outside the Wachovia Center on Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. In addition to Flyers Alumni appearances and free hot dogs, Flyers fans can pose for photos with the Prince of Wales Trophy.

Theuy're not even original. They're just copying the Craigslist Ad that was posted both her and in Chicago stating that "Dustin Byfligen's manhood for sale, was found in a dumpster at the Wachovia Center after it was taken by Chris Pronger." Now that was funny, this is just nonsense(like everything I've seen come out of Chicago. You would thing a city like that would have better journalists.) I love Philly so much more after being exposed to hacks like this.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... who cares!? Daily News, please don't get sucked into it like you did last year when NY did that to Victorino. Just let Chicago wallow in their unoriginality. Game 6: Flyers 4, Chicago 1. Game 7: Flyers 4, Chicago, 3. Parade.

What a bunch of Buff droppings! The game will be decided on the ice, not in a pull-out of the Chicago Tribune. What a rag! If the Flyers need this for motivation, they're in the wrong business. Seems to me to be a great example of Chi-town whistling past the graveyard. I guess some people have never heard of the old saying, "Let a sleeping Pronger lie!"

Some out-of-town rag did the same thing with Victorino in 2008. Even though some fans can be lunatics, don't the official "publications" at least TRY to take the high road (and leave the ridiculous extremes to the fans)?

Road515... Someone still watches ESPN? That's nothing but a collection of ratings-conscious media w hores all trying to jump on the bandwagon-of-the-day. It has little do do with sports.
