Chicago Tribune depicts Pronger as a woman
Sam Carchidi, Inquirer Staff Writer
The Chicago Tribune depicted Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger as a woman, calling him "Chrissy Pronger" in its cover story Tuesday and putting a skirt on him in a photo.
Pronger said he hadn't seen the photo.
"I really couldn't care, to be honest with you," Pronger said. "I'm worried about playing the game."
Pronger was a career-worst minus-5 in Game 5; before that, he was the best player in the Finals.

Goalie Michael Leighton will start Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals against Chicago on Wednesday, Flyers coach Peter Laviolette indirectly announced.
Leighton, who had three shutouts in the conference finals, leads the NHL with a 2.34 GAA in the playoffs, but he has struggled in the Finals (4.01 GAA; .864 save percentage).
But with Brian Boucher not fully recoverd from knee injuries, it's the right choice.....the only choice.

The Flyers will host a free pep rally outside the Wachovia Center on Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m. In addition to Flyers Alumni appearances and free hot dogs, Flyers fans can pose for photos with the Prince of Wales Trophy.
Probably not a good idea to give him anything more to get fired up about. Hawks fans are going to feel a little less secure after tomorrow night. n62
I just heard about this a few minutes before you guys reported it.....I can't even begin to think why the paper would allow such garbage to be published. Chicago is really asking for an azzzz-kicking by doing things like that. Well Hawks fans, if you thought your team had a chance before, the Tribune just signed a certain death warrant for them. I wonder what the Q-Stache thinks of that one? Can't wait til tomorrow night...Get 'em boys, and get em good!!! Let them know who wears the pants around here. Go Flyers!!! Flyboyinchitown
Not too smart. Expected a nice bounceback game from Mr. Pronger - this will only fire him up even more. fizzbin
Boy it would have been nice to be a fly on the wall when the powers-to-be made the decision to run with this and what exactly they used as deciding factors to do so. If Pronger's play in game 5 alone wasn't enough to get him fired up and come back with a vengenance in game 6, this certianly will be. I wonder if that was ever considered. The lower backs of Byfuglien, Towes and Kane will probaby end up paying the worst price for this as I'm sure Chris will take it out on them tomorrow. The laughs this got may not be worth it in the long run if this series turns again and Philly, specifically Mr. Pronger, takes this ammo and uses it productively. Bleue
philly gets a bad rep while Chicago does something like this and Boston gets away with the famous mustache poster... media bias? maybe just a little bit. mikehc
As Judas Priest once said "Some heads are gonna roll"...get'em boyos!!! JohnnyN- Whatever....brass tax is that the Blackhawks are winning the series. If Philly wants to brag, it needs to win. Plain and simple.
- thank you, thank you for that bulletin board material. not that an inspirational coach like laviolette needs help, but he just got some
- Wow. Chicago proves once more what they are: No Class. Laugh it up, fuzzballs. Give Pronger and the boys more motivation and ammunition? Not smart. Game on.
prongers gonna get BUFFED Reliablemobi585
when Chicago has no talent to back up their game, they resort to ridicule. We'll see who wears the skirt after game 7! snjgwmc- Wow, they managed to make the Daily news look like serious journalism! Pelti
- I don't care. I used to like sports, but since ESPN it's who can talk the most trash, and who can pee the farthest. What would happen if they were playing against Steve Avery? Chris Pronger is no doubt an instant HOF'er. road515
- Wow. Now, if Chicago doesn't win it, they will remember this as the jinx in Chicago like Bartman for the Cubs. I'd bet the Blackhawk players wished this hadn't happened.
