Jeff Carter, Darroll Powe and Dan Carcillo will miss Thursday's game against Toronto with the flu.
As a result, the Flyers recalled RW Ben Holmstrom from Adirondack.
Holmstrom, 23, had 10 goals and 17 assists and was minus-14 for the woeful Phantoms.
Winger James van Riemsdyk (lower-body injury) was doubtful but, because of the illnesses, he will now play.
A roster spot did not have to be cleared for Holmstrom because the trade deadline has passed _ after which there is unlimited space.
Holmstrom will be on a line with Blair Betts and Jody Shelley. He will play on the penalty kill and may take some faceoffs, coach Peter Laviolette said.
The Flyers, coming off a 4-1 lost to lowly Ottawa, will be trying to avoid their first two-game losing streak since late December. Sergei Bobrovsky will be in the nets for the Flyers.
Toronto, which defeated the Penguins in OT on Wednesday, is on a 6-1-4 run. James Reimer will be in goal for the Leafs, who are four points out of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot
Chris Pronger (hand) will return to the lineup Thursday.
