ATLANTA For the first time since he broke his right foot on Dec. 15, Chris Pronger skated with some Flyers teammates Friday in Atlanta.

But that doesn't mean the defenseman will be joining the lineup in the next few games.

"We want to take things slowly," GM Paul Holmgren said.

Holmgren confirmed that Pronger will not play Sunday in New York against the Rangers, or Tuesday against visiting Washington. There is no definitive date for his return, Holmgren said.

Rookie Sergei Bobrovsky will be in the net Friday night against Atlanta, and Matt Walker will be in the lineup for the second straight night. Bobrovsky (16-6-3, 2.55 GAA) will face the Thrashers' Ondrej Pavelec (15-9-5, 2.33)

The Flyers, facing improved Atlanta for the first time this season, are trying to rebound from Thursday's 7-5 loss in Boston.
