Flyers alter 3 lines for Boston

Based on Thursday's practice in Voorhees, the Flyers are making changes to three of their four lines for the Eastern Conference semifinals, which start Saturday afternoon in Boston.

Claude Giorux was moved from center on the third line to RW on Mike Richards' unit, one that includes left winger Dan Carcillo. Giroux led the Flyers with four goals in the first round against New Jersey.

Jared Ross, who scored 12 goals for the AHL Phantoms this season, takes Giroux's spot, centering James van Riemsdyk and Arron Asham on the third line.

Andreas Nodl, another player who spent most of the season with the Phantoms, replaces the injured Ian Laperriere on the fourth line.

Here is how the lines are expected to look against the Bruins:

   Carcillo-Richards-Giroux.

   Leino-Briere-Hartnell.

   JVR-Ross-Asham.

   Powe-Betts-Nodl.

Breakaways. Powe figures to absorb most of Laperriere's minutes on the PK....David Laliberte, who played on Richards' line in the series-clincher against NJ, is expected to be a healthy scratch Saturday.....The Flyers' game plan: Play physically against Boston's top forwards, especially Marc Savard, who is returning from a concussion, and Patrice Bergeron.
