The Flyers announced Monday they had signed winger Andreas Nodl, who was a restricted free agent.

Nodl, who scored 11 goals last season, is expected to have an increased role on the penalty kill. He signed a two-year deal, with a cap hit of 845Gs per season.

Later in the day, the Flyers sent hard-working Darroll Powe, a Princeton grad, to Minnesota for a third-round pick in 2013. The Flyers apparently were having problems signing the speedy Powe, who led the team with 196 hits last season.

The Flyers also said they had signed tough-guy Tom Sestito, who had announced his signing on Twitter about a week ago. He was acquired from Columbus last season and played for the Phantoms.

The Flyersmade qualifying offers to RFAs Wayne Simmonds, Jacub Voracek and Jon Kalinski. They did not offer one to Dan Carcillo.
