The Flyers, who face visiting Buffalo in Game 2 at 5 p.m. Saturday, are missing more than star defenseman Chris Pronger.
They are missing scoring from several of their key forwards.
Some numbers:
* Claude Giroux has one goal in his last 11 games.
* Ville Leino has two goals in his last 15 games.
* Mike Richards has two goals in his last 10 games.
* Jeff Carter has two goals in his last nine games.

The Sabres, coming off a 1-0 win in Game 1, are also looking for more offense. Despite Thursday’s victory, Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff said his team is capable of playing better.
“We turned over quite a few pucks on entries and that didn’t allow us to get enough (offensive) zone time,” he said. “We didn’t have the typical zone time for our team and we spent a lot of time in the neutral zone, and I felt that hurt us. We played a strong game but I think we can play a better game.”

Sabres winger Jason Pominville said goalie Ryan Miller may have benefitted from the time off following a collarbone injury March 29. Miller had 31 consecutive starts prior to the injury.
“He’s played so many games the last couple years and we were kind of riding him because we dug ourselves a pretty big hole,” Pominville said. “ Then, unfortunately, he got an injury, but the injury probably happened at a good time to give him a little rest.”
Miller came off the bench and held the Flyers scoreless in the third period and overtime of a 4-3 Buffalo win eight days ago. He had eight saves. Including the the 35 saves he had in Thursday’s 1-0 win, Miller has stopped the last 43 shots the Flyers have put on him.

They are also missing a shutout, don't forget that Sam. snipesmorris
this team is without a captain. Inchon
What the F happened to this team?????? shawnmac
would love to know why they quit on the coach. they haven't played his system in months. kdub13
A power play goal sure would be nice. Snap Crackle Propp
I think its time for zherdev to play. powderlzy
Don't understand why Jeff Carter gets away with his soft play. He hits nobody and rarely wins any puck battles. He needs to show up and play tough tonight. smartini
I'd hate to say it, but the Flyers are soft. They would rather poke check instead of taking the body. They make blind passes in the offensive zone in order to brace for a hit. Notice how every other team blocks more shots than them now. Last playoffs, they were one of the top teams in blocking shots. Byter
I agree, play Zherdev. Sit Carter, he's a waste out there. Shake things up! NYluvsPhylers
Carter is not sitting. Carcillo could. P Even
What they are missing is Ian Laperriere. He is the protypical "scrapper" who leads by example by doing all the dirty work necessary for winning playoff games. They could have signed a similar player (Raffi Torres) in the offseason, but instead chose to sign Jody Shelly. BTW...Torres was signed by Vancouver. Marcus Hooke
just win shawnmac- They are also missing heart and soul; and have been for the last 6 weeks. That lends itself to lack of leadership. Hopefully losing game 1 will be the spark they need.
They have no marbles. AreaMan

typical bandwagon non-Flyer fans, sit Carter? what a=hole wants that?
team is without a captain? another stupid statement by another moran non-fan. lose game one and these non-fans are jumping overboard.
The coach keeps benching Zerdev for Carcillio. Carcillio keeps taking bad penalties an scores nothing. How many games has Boborosky won in his last 10 games played? ONE. I could have played goal the last game and given up i goal. Buffalo had 2 legitimate chances and still managed to score on a big fat rebound that should have been sent to the corner. How mnany times was he freezing the puck when he could have keep the puck moving to avoid all those faceoffs in his own zone. He plays scared. This coach changes the powerplay unit so many times how can you expect any consistantcy. Howard32
