Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen will miss Saturday afternoon's game in Los Angeles with a foot injury.

Timonen, 38, injured his left shot blocking a shot in Tuesday's home win over Detroit. He played Thursday and committed a turnover that led to an Anaheim shorthanded goal in the Ducks' 5-3 win.

Andrej Meszaros will replace Timonen, who had played in all 55 games and has 19 points and a plus-1 rating.

One has to wonder if this will prevent Timonen from playing in the Olympics. The guess here is that he plays in Sochi, though it would be better for the Flyers if he rested.
