Sergei Bobrovsky will be in the press box.
The series is tied at one game each.
Injured winger Andreas Nodl will be replaced by Nik Zherdev.
Buffalo will get a boost as defenseman Jordan Leopold returns from a broken hand. He is about a week ahead of schedule.
Also today, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren strongly denied an NBC report that Chris Pronger suffered a second break in his right hand a few weeks ago. Pronger took some wrist shots at today's practice in Buffalo but will not play.

Good point, jimmyjamjames. Somebody at NBC is getting a call from Mr. Roberts at Comcast right about now. "Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren strongly denied" = it's definitely true. If Flyers make deep playoff run, before the end of it the goalie rotation will be Boucher/Leighton. Bob has done some great things this year but I didn't think he was that great even in Game 1. Game 2, he was obviously out of his league, and I don't think you can look to him to come into a game if Boosh gets lit up or hurt. wmichael
Leighton will back up but never play over bob as a starter. Boosh messes up we go back to bob, not leighton. fman727
Soooooo happy that Zherdev is going to play! Guys like him always show up in big games…it's what they live for. Carter…hope you rot in hell. springfish
Although Boucher is the right call for tonight, the goaltending situation here is still a joke that can only work to the Flyers' detriment. bpkrier
fman: probably true; I misspoke when I said "rotation." Leights has to be your in-game backup for Boucher. Springfish, take it easy on Carter, he's been a healthy scratch the first 2 games... hasn't he? wmichael
@springfish: your comment about Carter shows that you haven't been watching the flyers all season. The outrageous tone also shows that you have some pent up aggression that you're misdirecting at someone that doesn't deserve it. Get some therapy, buddy. BigRoundRed
If Leighton ever takes the ice again, I'll be flipping the channel to the Sixers. Hiding Behind My Keyboard
Does anybody know why Zherdev didn't get the nod in game 1 over Carcillo? There has been nothing but praise about him from Laviolette and Homer the past 3 weeks...then bam, benched. I don't understand? Then....even after no goals scored in game 1, they still leave Carcillo in over him. I think Laviolette is an amazing coach, but I still question his decision on that one.
Granted, Carcillo did get the easiest goal of his career thanks to Versteeg...I still highly disagree. Giroux1st- Cause you don't want zherdev on the checking line. On that same note, you could use nodl, powe, betts there. Atleast nodl kills pentalies. azguz
- NOOOO, can't figure it out neigher. Z is playing much better than nodl, carcillo (wtf is wrong with this guy... did you see him faking a punch in the last game? he's a pretender and a coward. He and Avery should be banned from the game forever, my dog has more sence than this guy) bets or powe. As a matter of fact Z was one of the best players lately for the flyers. Whenever he got a chance he responded well. I think it's entirely Lavys fault, because if you don't think a player deserves to play you trade him or send him down. Otherwise, you HELP him understand what to do better, how to improve. Lavy has not done that, all he did all seazon was expresing his displasure with Z, and Z is still on the team.... somebody explain it to me please... I do not respect Lavy anymore because of the way he handled this situation.... Wish all of you a nice hage tonight ;)

BigRoundRed,
I live in Oregon and haven't missed a game all year. In fact, I even attended a few games. 36 goals this season for our boy Carter. Big deal…he's lazy, he can't play D, and almost ALL his goals were uncreative-practically-anyone-could-score goals. He's dead weight and doesn't bleed orange and never will. He's everything wrong with the game of hockey.
I question if you've actually been watching the games or if you simply have some puppy love for your surfer buddy. springfish- I agree, Carter is the first guy traded if I'm a GM. And I'll trade him for a bag of sh*t (seriously). I think that would shake this lazy team. Carter is a pest and his attitude kills the will to fight. I just don't get it qgtLavy blames it on Zherdev. I think Z lately played much more agresive hockey than Carter. There must be something wrong with Lavy and Russians... cuz it makes no sence. Did he have chance to any russian players when he was in Carolina ?
mvandei - mvandei, you can do better than that in a trade. Demand two rolls of sock tape and two rolls of stick tape, and "a roll of tape to be named later". :)
