Crosby: Nothing to be embarrassed about

Pittsburgh center Sidney Crosby instigated a lot of the scrums during the Flyers' wild 8-4 win Sunday, but the Penguins' superstar downplayed the actions after his team's practice on Tuesday.
Told that some Penguins fans were embarrassed by his team's display, Crosby went on the defensive.
"The tough part is, if they were in this room, they would see how much each guy cares," Crosby said. "It's more than one team that's doing that stuff out there. They should have nothing to be embarrassed about. They should be pretty proud of the guys they have here."
Added Crosby: "It's a terrible situation – being down, 3-0 – but I think that's when your need your fans' support the most."
The Flyers can finish the series with a win at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday.
"We're not going to sit here and make excuses," Crosby said. "We can't fix the fact we're down 3-0, but I think we all believe we can come back, and this is when you need your fans the most."
The Penguins have allowed 20 goals in the getting-nastier-by-the-shift series. Twenty. And they have been outscored on special teams, 9-3.
Crosby looked at the positives.
"You've got to win one. Focus on winning one and being desperate and leaving it all out there," he said. "For us, the good thing is we haven't played a full game yet. We'd love to see the result with a full game"
The Flyers have not swept a series since 1995 (Rangers), while the Penguins haven't been swept since 1979 (Bruins).
Late Tuesday, the NHL handed suspensions to the Pens' James Neal (one game) and Arron Asham (four games).
"We can't worry about who's in the lineup or what happened in the first three games. All our energy has to go toward winning that game," Crosby said. "If we have to play with 10 guys, we have to find a way to win."
Crosby said the Penguins must play with more discipline.
"Their power play has proven to be pretty dangerous," he said. "....We have to stay out of the penalty box."
In the first three games, the Flyers are 6 for 10 on the power play and have scored three shorthanded goals.

Too bad for Cindy that now that they need their fans the most, the few they have left will be on the western side of the state. Rock the house Flyers fans!! C-Note
Crosby is an embarrassment. With virtually the entire hockey community calling out his team (including the owner - a legend in his own right), and his petulant behavior in particular, he has the gall to say that they should be proud? cyniccritic
Still blaming everyone else for his failures and poor sportsmanship. He should wear a D on his sweater for dbag. Penfold18
After Sunday, no one in the U.S.A. or Canada cares what Sidney thinks. He's done. NHL won't protect His Pettiness anymore. I live in Chicago, and my diehard Blackhawks neighbors begrudgingly admitted the Flyers are very respectable--despite the awesome antics of Pronger two years ago. They compared the Penguins with Vancouver, another franchise that cheats, dives, and whines to the refs for special treatment. Go Flyers! momeara001- Amen. Canucks and Penguins ARE the two dirtiest teams in the league. Hopefully the Kings put Vancouver out of their misery and the Flyers banish the Penguins. backhand
- Nice, fellow Flyer fan in Chicago!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!Yeah, okay! Perhaps, if the games had been competitive or hard-fought close victories, I might agree with Cindy that there was a slight CHANCE. But we first took their superstar golie's psyche, then we took the PenQueen's collective heart! Both are sitting right there, on a shelf in the Flyers' locker room at the Wells Fargo Center. The girls have ZERO SHOT at coming back. Z-E-R-O. I don't think they even want to show up, let alone win the game. As a matter of fact, it is a foregone conclusion that the Flyers will SWEEP them back to Pittsburgh tomorrow night. We took their heart, baby! And I'm lovin' it. Unfortunately, I'll be in NYC tomorrow night. So for any Flyer fan in NYC, I'll be at either Shorty's on 9th, near 40th, or Wogie's in Greenwich Village. Both bars have former Philly owners and are FILLED with Flyers fans on gameday. We take over the whole block, baby! So if you are stuck in NYC like me, check it out! 5NOT4
goalie, that is... 5NOT4
Hey Cindy, you could put on a dress and heels and go to a prom, too. PhillySubsMac
As the Flyers showed two years ago, nothing's impossible. Be nice to finish the job tomorrow night. retzlaff

Yo Sidney, your virility borders on sterility. dasher
Other than the skate around game the last game of the season, the Flyers have played their best hockey in the Pens building. It ain't happening sweetheart dear boy, not 4 games in a row. Take the high road Flyers, Keep your heads up but keep your head and don't get suckered into stupid hits that will hurt us in the next series. DUDESKINS
What did you expect Cindy Crawford to say, that they have zero chance of winning this series? Oh, I meant Cindy Crosby. BobbyD- Where is nocup??? Oh that's right you jumped off the bandwagon as quickly as you jumped on loser. xlGmanlx
