Crosby: Nothing to be embarrassed about

Pittsburgh center Sidney Crosby instigated a lot of the scrums during the Flyers' wild 8-4 win Sunday, but the Penguins' superstar downplayed the actions after his team's practice on Tuesday.
Told that some Penguins fans were embarrassed by his team's display, Crosby went on the defensive.
"The tough part is, if they were in this room, they would see how much each guy cares," Crosby said. "It's more than one team that's doing that stuff out there. They should have nothing to be embarrassed about. They should be pretty proud of the guys they have here."
Added Crosby: "It's a terrible situation – being down, 3-0 – but I think that's when your need your fans' support the most."
The Flyers can finish the series with a win at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday.
"We're not going to sit here and make excuses," Crosby said. "We can't fix the fact we're down 3-0, but I think we all believe we can come back, and this is when you need your fans the most."
The Penguins have allowed 20 goals in the getting-nastier-by-the-shift series. Twenty. And they have been outscored on special teams, 9-3.
Crosby looked at the positives.
"You've got to win one. Focus on winning one and being desperate and leaving it all out there," he said. "For us, the good thing is we haven't played a full game yet. We'd love to see the result with a full game"
The Flyers have not swept a series since 1995 (Rangers), while the Penguins haven't been swept since 1979 (Bruins).
Late Tuesday, the NHL handed suspensions to the Pens' James Neal (one game) and Arron Asham (four games).
"We can't worry about who's in the lineup or what happened in the first three games. All our energy has to go toward winning that game," Crosby said. "If we have to play with 10 guys, we have to find a way to win."
Crosby said the Penguins must play with more discipline.
"Their power play has proven to be pretty dangerous," he said. "....We have to stay out of the penalty box."
In the first three games, the Flyers are 6 for 10 on the power play and have scored three shorthanded goals.

@mottz,and i'm sure you had the pens at 3-0 right moron. sewell guy
What else is Cindy going to say? I hate the Flyers!! His actions in this series have taken him from possibly the greatest player in the game to the most despised player in the league. There's nothing more for his to say. Check out this post I found and the great letter to Penguins Management from a life long fan. Great stuff!!! http://phillypressbox.wordpress.com/2012/04/16/flyers-penguins-game-3-debacle/ Hitman20
Unfortunately G just missed Crybabies chin with a right uppercut that would have put the lights out for a long time. He'll get one soon! AnukKrakatoa

Funny that Cindy says they have nothing to be embarressed about, yet his owner (Mario) and fanbase have come out and pubicly chastized the team for their antics in Sundays game. Cindy should be held accountable, as HE is the one that started just about all of it (less the Neal and Asham cheap shots). Cindy is a whiney lil brat and needs to be taken to the wood shed. I love being up 3-0. But the hardest game to win is the fourth one. Do you really expect the Pens to give up? I don't. Don't forget two years ago. It can happen. The Pens are still a good team. Let up on the intensity a little bit, give up a cheap goal or two, take a couple of dumb penalties and the Pens are good enough come back. Just a little bit of fear along with a whole bunch of confidence and intensity is the way to wrap this thing up Wednesday night. But this series isn't over and you're a fool if you think it is. Al Wilson- The "C" on his jersey does not stand for Captian; can we fill in the blank C_ _ _
Oh, it be over! hoverer
Crosby's comments are no more believable than those of Bylsma, saying Sid's behavior was calculated. Whatever you need to get through the day, fellas. element_104
I think he meant we can go back, home for the offseason! Ken B
Sidney the Kidney is probably remembering the good ole days when he couldn't play what with the concussions. BEMiller- Both goalies have stunk. Bryz has stunk a little less. But to me Malkin has been tied up big time. Or he is hurt. And we all know/knew that their D was suspect. So really this should not be a surprise. What is a surprise is that Crosby is regressing to his boorish behavior like he had when he first came up. I actually thought he'd have matured by now. Lemiux I think may have to re think as Captain next year. No matter if they make this a series or not, he has really shown to all he is just a spoiled brat. Poppys
btw, Pete Rose was convinced for 20 years that he never bet on baseball and that it wasn't wrong anyway if he did......Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds are convinced they never took steroids and they can't go to prison.....the great players in each game are beyond reproach, in their own minds. Remember that. Mark1npt
